"Man Utd was a poisoned chalice, but history shows only Jose did better so far."

Nah. Not only Jose. In the 9 seasons since he was sacked from there, they've always finished higher than the 7th Moyes managed. Also, they won the FA cup under Van Gaal; the League Cup under ten Hag and were League runners up under Solskjaer and Jose.

It was a poisoned chalice, for sure, but let's not pretend that they've not done much better since Moyes left.

Fuck it, lets just blood the youngsters in. League and Cup winners from last season!

The idea of signing McTominay, Maguire and JWP from the Rice Money to my mind is the working of Moyes.
Sullivan putting in low bids suggests he doesn't agree and wants to try to get deals either done on the cheap or doesn't actually want those players. In that case he should bin Moyes get a manager in who will want players that Stiedten has identified and will be cheaper, younger alternative that fucking slabhead and the jock.

Where are his transfers this pre-season? Still dithering and most we are linked too are completely uninspiring.

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
There is a list below of his Preston, Everton and West Ham transfers.

All top players really. Some youngsters from bigger clubs, the pick of the Championship players who were too good for that league and some international quality.

I cannot judge him on Sunderland which was a club already gone, just surviving each season. The international signings done him in there.

Sociedad was temp.Man Utd was a poisoned chalice, but history shows only Jose did better so far.

For West Ham, he keeps us ticking over and won a European trophy. Which is on par with the FA Cup. It has European status and Europa League qualification.

We have had 1 poor premier league season under Moyes in which it was football that we would of accepted at the Upton Park. We saw with Big Sam, Curbs, Zola.

I would judge him now till December 2023.

He's done alright with most of the other signings, hasn't he?

Moyes thought Hughill was worth signing, tells you EVERYTHING you need to know

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
I might be wrong but he seems to have a better success rate with some of those that cost little or no money, a bit like Redknapp in that respect. I think his issue is, or certainly was last season chasing certain players who weren't interested for too long and thus not leaving enough time to get others in.

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
I don't mind if Moyes wants a bit of Prem experience as long as it's balanced with some of the hot prospects they new bloke wants.

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
The hit rate with defenders isn't that bad. More than hf could be judged a success of those on the 1st page.
Also he's bought some quality prem players.
Fellaini. Mata . Arteta.

But also some total shit

Those.2 for Sunderland royally fucked the club for years
Djibodji and ndonger

Spin the Moysie wheel of terrific transfer tombola

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
Same with every manager really. Some very astute signings and some absolute stinkers. You could reel off a list of some absolute shit Ferguson has signed, for example. Signed some poor players for us, but also Bowen, Dawson, Paqueta etc. The main grumble for me is his inability or refusal to use some of the players he's signed.

One thing which backs up what we know about him is he likes to go with what he knows and is very risk averse, when you see a lot of it.

By Presbyterian I mean Moyes not the Scouse Mod... obviously

eusebiovic 1:19 Fri Jul 28
Re: Moysie's Transfer History
His Presbyterian demeanor isn't my favourite type of vibe but Leighton Barnes was a half decent left back for around a decade.

It like Harry though...a few good signings for sure but 2 or 3 dud ones for the ones he always sings about.

Iron Duke 12:38 Fri Jul 28
Re: Moysie's Transfer History
Not really though, is it? Coleman, Arteta, Cahill for thruppence ha’penny. That would have made up for everything else on there on it’s own.

Also, where are the signings for the last year?

Re: Moysie's Transfer History
Per Kaldrup was always a favourite transfer of mine from Moyes at 5 million it was half a million more than our record transfer. Moyes bounced him out of Everton after a handful of games

You could also look at Moyes record of bringing through young players at Everton and post Moyes which is fucking shocking
